Welcome
There are times when we need to discuss and work through issues that may be troubling us but our family and usual support networks that we turn to are not appropriate. Counselling offers an opportunity to explore our thoughts and feelings, beliefs and behaviours in a safe and confidential setting. The chance to be heard and understood can give clarity to situations, past and present and new self-awareness, enabling us to make the choices that are right for us and move forward with confidence.
It is accepted that a most important factor in obtaining a successful outcome from therapy, is the working relationship between the client and therapist. I respect how hard it can be to initially engage in the counselling process and feel it a privilege to be trusted with a client's vulnerability. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, supportive and empathic environment in which a counselling relationship can develop and facilitate a process of change.
I am professionally trained and experienced in counselling/psychotherapy; neuro linguistic programming; life coaching and clinical hypnotherapy having worked in the private, public and charity sectors. I am an ethical, compassionate and safe practitioner having had a successful private practice in Lymington for 17 years. I worked as a counsellor, supervisor and management committee member for CRUSE Bereavement Care for 10 years. Additionally, I hold the post of Senior Counsellor for IAPT and Clinical Supervisor for a NHS trust.
I work integratively, applying whichever theoretical approach I think is best to meet individual client need, working at a pace that suits the client. I work with young people, adults and couples.
Please have a look at my website and if you would like to have a telephone conversation with me to discuss your particular needs, leave me your contact details and I will be happy to get in touch.
